A Coffee Stand and Social Responsibility

Running any business, no matter the type, no matter the location, carries with it a degree of social responsibility. That is what we believe at Madres Espresso, and that is what we try to practice daily.

What is social responsibility? It encompasses these three main tenants:

• Business social responsibility means that businesses should operate in ways that benefit society in addition to maximizing profit.

• Socially responsible companies adopt policies that promote the well-being of society and the environment while lessening the negative impacts on them.

• Companies can act responsibly in many ways such as by promoting volunteering, making changes that benefit the environment, engaging in ethical labor practices, and engaging in charitable giving.

We are a work in progress at Madres, but we are determined to stay the course and be a business that Olympia residents can be proud to patronize.  We are not just a coffee stand. We are a part of this community, and that fact carries with it a degree of responsibility which we take seriously.
