Coffee vs Espresso: What Does It All Mean?

Over 600 million cups of coffee are consumed in the United States EACH DAY!

Think about that fact for a moment. Mind blown?

That statistic includes espresso, which may confuse some of you who are not familiar with the difference between the two terms.

Espresso is an Italian-based coffee that's made by using hot water and high pressure. The result is a concentrated shot that has a heavy body, strong aroma, and an intentionally bitter taste with a lingering aftertaste.

To put it in simpler terms, the only difference between espresso and coffee is the brewing process. There is no such thing as espresso beans.  Espresso and drip coffee both come from the same basic coffee beans, of which there are four main varieties.

It’s as simple as that!
